Add Effects

Annotation:

Time/Date

You can include the time and date for a predefined period of time. To add time/date, check the Effects->Annotation->Time/Date menu item.

To change Time/Date settings, click Effects->Annotation->Settings... to open the Annotation Setting Dialog. You can specify the text format for time/date. If Show For only __ seconds is selected, the time and date stamp will only be rendered for the specified time from the start of the capture. It automatically turns off after the time has elapsed. Click the Options button to set up the appearance and position of the time and date annotation on the dialog.

Caption:

You can also create a text option, such as a title, and customize its appearance and position on screen. To add time/date, check the Effects->Annotation->Caption menu item.

To change Caption settings, click Effects->Annotation->Settings... to open the Annotation Setting Dialog. You can specify a text string to be rendered into the movie. Click the Options button to set up the appearance and position of the text annotation on the Caption Options Dialog. Place a check mark in the Prompt before capture box if you would like to enter the text annotation for each capture just before recording.

Cursor Effects:

Record Cursor:

Record cursor or not. To enable/disable cursor recording, check the Effects->Cursor->Record Cursor menu item.

To view or change settings for cursor shape, go to Effect->Cursor->Settings... and select cursor tab.

Highlight Cursor:

When this option is On during video capture the cursor has a highlight area applied around. This helps call attention to the movement of the cursor. To enable/disable this effect, check the Effects->Cursor->Highlight Cursor menu item.

To view or change settings for highlight cursor, go to Effect->Cursor->Settings... and select Highlight Cursor tab. Under Highlight Cursor, select a cursor highlight shape from the drop-down list. You can also set the color (using the [Color] button), the Size of the highlight area (using the slider), and select whether the highlight is to be Translucent, Semi-translucent, or Opaque. The preview area shows the appearance of each of these selections.

Highlight Left Clicks/Highlight Right Clicks:

When this option is On during video capture, mouse clicks result in a circle effect being applied to the area the click occurred. This helps call attention to the action of clicking and can be supplemented with the audio click effect. To enable/disable this effect, check the Effects->Cursor->Highlight Left Clicks or Effects->Cursor->Highlight Right Clicks.

To view or change settings for highlight clicks, go to Effect->Cursor->Settings... and select Highlight Clicks tab. You can select a ring or other pattern to be used for both right and left mouse button clicks. You can also select the color and size of the effect.

Sound Effects:

Record Sound:

Record sound or not. To enable/disable sound recording, check the Effects->Sound->Record Sound menu item.

Left Click Sound/Right Click Sound:

Play a WAV file to signify left mouse button down and right mouse button down. (We provide two sample files, LeftClick.wav and RightClick.wav.) To enable/disable this effect, check the Effects->Sound->Left Click Sound or Effects->Sound->Right Click Sound.

To view or change settings for Left Click Sound/Right Click Sound, select Effect->Sound->Settings... menu item to open the setting dialog. Specify in the appropriate box the WAV file to be played to signify key down. Use the [Open] button to search for WAV files if you want to change from the sample. Use the speaker button to preview the sounds. Use the Volume slider to adjust the relative volume of the effect in the rendered movie.

Keyboard Sound:

Play a WAV file to signify key down. (We provide a sample files, KeyDown.wav.) To enable/disable this effect, check the Effects->Sound->Keyboard Sound.

To view or change settings for Left Click Sound/Right Click Sound, select Effect->Sound->Settings... menu item to open the setting dialog. Specify in the appropriate box the WAV file to be played to signify key down. Use the [Open] button to search for WAV files if you want to change from the sample. Use the speaker button to preview the sounds. Use the Volume slider to adjust the relative volume of the effect in the rendered movie.

AutoPan:

Enable/Disable AutoPan.
